Light Meter Calibration Procedure
Step 1: Send us your instruments
Instrumentation can be sent to us with a copy of your official order, or order confirmation. Alternatively, we can arrange a collection via our own designated courier (charges apply). Please contact our Technical Team who will be happy to arrange this. Please ensure your instruments are clean and free from contaminants.
Step 2: Booking in
When you instrument arrives on-site it undergoes an initial inspection by our calibration staff. The instrument is checked for any damage, and functionality and the batteries are tested for the correct voltage. If required, new batteries are installed and the item is booked in and placed safely inside our lab to acclimatise to the testing environment for 24 hours. Should any faults or damage be found our team will contact you to discuss your options.
Step 3: Testing
Your light meters are calibrated using a specialist Halogen or LRD lightbox, where its accuracy is recorded and compared against UKAS calibrated equipment at pre-determined calibration points. If your meter is reading out of specification, our technicians will adjust it where possible and re-test.
Step 4: Producing your Light Meter Calibration Certificate
Your test data is detailed on calibration certificates which include testing conditions, equipment used, measurement errors, and any measurements of uncertainty ensuring full traceability.
Step 5: Payment and Shipping
Our calibration team will contact you with an update about your instruments and request payment. Your items are then safely repackaged and shipped via express delivery that typically arrives the very next day.
