Coating Thickness / Hardness Meters
Coating thickness meters are used to measure how thick a coat of paint or varnish is on any given item. Shore hardness Durometers are designed for the purpose of measuring the hardness of plastics. To do this, the meters penetrate / indent the surface of the plastics to record a hardness reading from 1-100. This reading is highly dependant on the shore hardness scale used and can be affected by variables such as the age of the sample, as plastic hardness can deteriorate over time.
